Pine View WRC is an educational resource for training and hands-on experience with wildlife rehabilitation.
Internships
We offer an internship program, to Wisconsin residents only, specifically designed to the individual student's needs.
The program incorporates special projects and lab work. Students acquire a general understanding of wildlife rehabilitation, and participate in all facets of the Center including rescue, rehab, releases
and educating the public.
Interns are given an opportunity to learn through hands-on experience while at the Center. We are proud to say that many former interns have stayed on to become
valuable volunteers for Pine View and others have become involved in related wildlife professions.
Mentorships
To better meet the needs of each student and to maximize individual learning, we take only two interns each summer. Determinations for
summer intern positions are made by late December. The Mentorship program emphasizes working with select animal or bird patients, appreciating their natural history, and understanding the rehabilitation process.
They alsogain awareness regarding wildlife and our environment.
Field Experience
Field Experience is another opportunity for young adults to observe and participate in the general daily activities of the Center. The goal for young adults
is to gather a general appreciation as to the relationship between wildlife, the environment and human activities and the role the Center plays. Participants in our Field Experience
Program receive credit for their experience.
